An Indian man who was the leader of a group that took 800 Indians illegally across the border from Canada to various parts of the US in Uber taxis has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Rajinder and his team arranged Uber taxis for the Indians who brought them to the US state of Washington, which is adjacent to the Canadian border.
According to the Department of Justice, Rajinder admitted to earning $500,000 through human trafficking. The group made 600 trips for human trafficking. Up to 80,000 dollars was imposed.
