They’ve put together a movie that pays tribute to those classic Westerns and the characters in them, but they do it in a funny way.
The main character, Johnny Black, is a tough gunslinger and fighter who’s on a mission to get revenge for his father’s murder.
He carries a picture of his dad and a bullet with the name of the person who killed him.
But Johnny keeps getting into trouble with the law and other people who want to catch him for a reward or arrest him for made-up crimes.
Eventually, Johnny pretends to be a preacher to hide from his enemies and ends up in a town called Hope Springs.
He takes on the identity of Reverend Percy and gets involved in the town’s problems, like a greedy landowner who wants to take valuable land from a woman named Jessie.
The movie is quite long, at 136 minutes, and there are times when it’s not very funny, which can make it feel slow.
However, there are some funny moments, especially when Johnny interacts with the people in the town.
There are also jokes about serious issues, like racism and how Native Americans were often portrayed by non-Native actors in old Westerns.
Towards the end of the movie, there are appearances by actors from older Blaxploitation Western films, and it’s a special moment for fans of those movies.
